Solana Prediction Market Trepa Shuts Down, Final Round Ends Aug 12

Solana-based prediction market platform Trepa has announced it will shut down. The final round of user participation ends August 12, and the application will remain operational until September 30 so users can withdraw their funds. After that date, the platform will no longer be accessible. The Trepa team said it failed to find product-market fit (PMF). The platform operated a prize pool split mechanism: users guessed specific numerical values, and payouts were distributed proportionally based on how accurate their guesses were. That model made returns unpredictable and gave users no way to exit positions before the round concluded. The additional requirement to participate during fixed time windows each day also put significant pressure on retention. The team ultimately concluded it could not find a sustainable growth path, and is now winding down operations while keeping withdrawals open until the September 30 cutoff.

On August 5, Tria launched its "TradFi vs Crypto" trading competition on the decentralized exchange Decibel, running through August 19. The event is split into two independent tracks: TradFi, covering tokenized stocks, ETFs and commodities, and Crypto, each with its own leaderboard and prize pool. The combined prize pool is 25,000 USDC, split as 15,000 USDC for the Crypto track and 10,000 USDC for the TradFi track.
